A Year of Stories: Highlights from the Birdie & Claire Journal

As we close out 2025 and step into a new year, I find myself thinking about the stories we've shared over the past twelve months.

The Birdie & Claire journal has always been more than a place to talk about clothes. It's where we share the inspiration behind what we create, the women who shaped us, and the thoughtful approach to style that guides everything we do.

This year brought some of our favorite pieces yet. Stories from incredible women. Practical styling advice. Reflections on what it means to build something with intention.

If you missed any of these posts along the way, or if you'd like to revisit them, here's a look back at what we shared in 2025.

The Women Who Inspired Us

This year, we had the privilege of featuring seven remarkable women in our "We're Inspired By..." series. Each conversation reminded us why we started Birdie & Claire in the first place: to honor the women who show up with creativity, curiosity, and care.

Susan Kanoff

As the founder of Uncommon Threads, Susan has created a nonprofit boutique that's served over 15,000 women with clothing, community, and confidence. She's proof that when fashion meets compassion, incredible things happen.

Jacqui Getz

Three decades of teaching led Jacqui to her next chapter: helping women find their style at every age. With a Master's in sustainable fashion and a refreshing Instagram presence, she's redefining what pro-age fashion looks like, one thoughtfully curated closet at a time.

Amira Lerario

Amira took the stage at a modeling search and launched an entirely new career. Today, she's a L'Oréal Paris model, world champion marathoner, and living reminder that it's never too late to surprise yourself with what's possible.

Jodi Picoult

With nearly 30 novels under her belt, Jodi knows that fiction has a unique superpower: it lets us explore difficult questions through deeply human stories. Her books invite readers to examine their beliefs, challenge assumptions, and walk away with greater empathy.

Heather Jackson

Frustrated by brands that made her feel invisible during menopause, Heather created GenM to change the conversation entirely. Now, she's leading a global movement of retailers and brands committed to serving menopausal women with the trust, visibility, and support they deserve.

Aubrey Hubbell

Aubrey saw a gap in femme care products that actually met women's needs, she co-founded Hazel to fill it. Her philosophy for building something meaningful? Listen deeply to your customers and iterate constantly.

Smita Netra

From biotech engineering to textile design, Smita founded Banyan & Birch to honor the artisan traditions of India. Her luxury home linens blend hand-block printing and weaving techniques passed down through generations with designs that feel fresh and modern.

Styling & How-To Guides

We also shared practical pieces designed to make getting dressed a little easier. These guides focus on real-life styling—the kind that works for your wardrobe, your body, and your everyday life.

The Art of Proportion: Cropped vs. Long Layers

One of the simplest ways to change the look and feel of an outfit? Adjust the proportion. We broke down how different layer lengths can completely transform how your outfit feels on your body.

Your Guide to Travel-Friendly Summer Outfits

Between airport hustle, unpredictable weather, and endless walking, dressing for travel can feel like a puzzle. We shared our approach to packing light while still looking pulled-together.

One Piece, Two Ways: Styling Inspiration from Cheryl Maday

There's nothing we love more than seeing how you bring Birdie & Claire pieces to life. Cheryl (@cherylshops) showed us two beautiful ways to style one piece, and we were swooning.

Reflections on the Journey

Reflecting On Another Year of Birdie & Claire

Each September, I pause to write a letter to myself about how the business is going. This year brought growth, new designs, wonderful collaborators, and a steadily growing community. It reminded me to celebrate the small steps as much as the milestones.

Looking Ahead

Thank you for being part of this year and for reading, for sharing, for supporting thoughtful, intentional design.

The journal will continue to be a place where we share stories, inspiration, and the kind of content that feels meaningful rather than fleeting. We're looking forward to what 2026 brings, and we're so glad you're here with us.

If there's a topic you'd like us to explore or a story you'd like to hear, we'd love to know. You can always reach us at hello@birdieandclaire.com.

Here's to another year of stories, style, and staying connected.
