What is on-demand? How do I tell which products are made on-demand?
Knitwear pieces are produced on-demand in Brooklyn, NY, using state-of-the-art 3D knitting technology. Thanks to this innovative method, each item is made within 5-8 business days of when an order is placed. Producing items after orders helps minimize excess inventory waste and reduces our environmental footprint. You can learn more about the process here.

When will I be charged for an on-demand order?
Your payment method will be charged at the time you place the order.
When do on-demand products ship?
On-demand production begins when you place your order. Once your order is placed, you will receive email updates notifying you of shipment. On-demand items typically ship within 5-8 business days.
Can I return an on-demand item?
Yes, on-demand items follow our standard return policy.
How do I make changes to an on-demand order I already placed?

When will new products or colors be available?
We will be dropping new products throughout the year. Make sure to sign up for our newsletter for updates as we’ll share any new products with our subscribers first.
What size should I order?
We highly recommend taking the time to check your measurements with the size chart when making your first purchase. Detailed sizing information can be found directly on each product page.

My size is sold out. Will you be getting more or can I special order?
When a size is sold out, you can sign-up on the product page and we’ll notify you when more arrive. In some cases, we can do a special order of specific sizes.
Contact us and we’ll see what we can do. Unless otherwise noted during the ordering process, all special orders follow our standard return policy (see below).
I like the product, but does it come in other colors?
Sometimes! We might not have every color of an item in stock, but we are always happy to discuss special ordering and may have new colors on the way. Give us a call or send a message to email@example.com.
I’m looking for a specific style that I don’t see offered. Will you be getting other styles?
Yes. We will continue to build out our offering over time. If you are looking for something specific that you don’t see on our site, let us know. Our goal is to take the stress out of clothing shopping, and we’ve got styling services in the works. Currently, we are available for complimentary styling support if you'd like help putting all the pieces of your look together. What is the return policy?
We want you to be happy with your purchase, so you have 30 days from the time your order is delivered to return your item for a refund. You can read the full return policy here.

When will I receive my order?
We process all orders within 2 business days (excluding holidays and weekends). You will receive an email with tracking information when your order is in the mail.
If an item is a pre-order, the shipping date is listed in the product description. You will be notified by email when your purchase is on the way.

Where are you located?
Our business is entirely online at this time. While we do not have a physical storefront, we are hoping to be able to offer in-person shopping events and experiences in the future. Sign up for our email list to be notified.
Where are the Birdie & Claire products made? Where do the materials come from?
We are currently working with design and production partners in NYC and Brooklyn to manufacture our Birdie & Claire products. The textiles for each garment are thoughtfully sourced internationally and details will be listed in each product description. You can also learn more about how our knitwear products are made here.
We also offer a small selection of items sourced from other independent brands. All information and materials will be listed directly in each product description.
Are Birdie & Claire items just for older women?
While we are centering women as they age in the design process, our hope is that women of ALL ages will fall in love with our timeless styles. This is a party that everyone is invited to!
What do you mean by “centering women as they age in the design process”?
In every design decision, we’ve taken into consideration feedback from customer interviews about the unique features that women desire as they approach each new decade. We also hope that the imagery on our site reflects and is inclusive of women across the age spectrum.
What’s so different about an item designed for women as they get older?
We’ve kept in mind many of the normal physical and lifestyle changes that are experienced as we all age. Things like making sure that: (1) fabric is breathable to regulate body temperature, (2) every item is compatible with wearing a bra, (3) garments are simple to put on and free of tiny hard-to-reach buttons...and the list goes on!
